Examining the economic impact of minority-owned firms, per the most recent census data, the Minority Business Development Agency / US Department of Commerce reports that MBEs generated $1.6 trillion in revenue and 9.8 million jobs in 2020. Of the 1.2 million minority employer firms in the US, approximately 132 thousand fell under the Professional, Scientific, and Technical Services umbrella, trailing right behind Retail Trade, Health Care and Social Assistance, and Accommodation and Food Services.
